If you have pain while walking, pain while climbing or downstairs, in standing up from sitting, while sitting on the floor, in long-standing, in cross leg sitting, and in doing many other activities? If you feel the clicking noise while moving your joint? The answer is probably yes, you might have knee arthritis.
These are your daily routine activities; you cannot avoid standing, walking, or any of these activities. Many of you have long-standing or persistent walking during your job, and it is not possible to change the situation. Now the big question is, “What should I do with this pain? And how can I get rid of it?”
Before you find out how to get rid of it, let us first understand why it is happening?
Here, let us discuss some of the common reasons:
Muscle weakness: Muscle weakness is one of the reasons for such pain. With weak muscles, you will feel pain while sitting or standing, taking up stairs or climbing. Muscle weakness is due to lack of exercise, which may be because of your sedentary lifestyle, spending too much time sitting and not moving the legs, or maybe because of some illness.
Injury: Injury or trauma to the knee may be another reason for such pain.
Soft tissue injury: Injuries of another kind, like the twisting of knees, which causes trauma to the ligaments and tendons, also cause pain in the knee.
Osteoarthritis: If your age is more than 40 years, and you do not have any muscle weakness as your active, and also not had any injury or trauma, but still are experiencing pain, then the most probable cause is osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative cellular disease, where cells keep on dying after the age of 40, leading to problems mentioned above. If you are a female, then the chances of it are increased manifolds.
Osteoarthritis is the most common cause of the destruction of the knee joint and causing discomfort. If you notice any of these problems, immediately make an appointment with your doctor, discuss your issues, and the doctor will guide you in finding the right solution for your knee pain.
Do not ignore such signs and symptoms. Early intervention will lead to better recovery. “Prevention is always better than cure.”
